Abstract Map shows North Carolina west to the Blue Ridge mountains, and parts of Virginia and South Carolina. Relief shown by hachures. Depicts cities and towns, natural features, roads and paths, mills, chapels, landowners, soundings, swamps, pocosins, and forts. Native American tribes mentioned include the Meherrin, Catawba, and Tuscarora. A red line across the state at 35.5 degrees latitude is probably the Granville Line. Prime meridians: London and Currituck Inlet.

Per wikipedia -- reference 1672 map -- This charter issued by King Charles II of England proposed the formation of the Lords Proprietors and gave the lands of Carolina to the eight proprietors: the Earl of Clarendon, Duke of Albemarle, Lord Craven, Lord Berkeley, Lord Ashley, Sir George Carteret, William Berkeley and Sir John Colleton. -- Its good to be the Kings friend I guess.. lol
