This 4 inch tall vase was made by Adams, Est. 1657 to commemorate the 1937 Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Oddly the date seems out of place and was altered during production. Otherwise in good condition. Not sure if a one-off or a failed batch.
George VI was King of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Commonwealth from 11 December 1936 until his death in 1952. He was the last Emperor of India until August 1947, when the British Raj was dissolved. Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon was Queen of the United Kingdom and the Dominions from 11 December 1936 to 6 February 1952 as the wife of King George VI. She was the last Empress of India.
